The Guardian Project

The Guardian Project offers cutting-edge and interactive training and resources to empower emergency responders and military personnel in identifying signs of mental health issues in themselves and their colleagues. It provides them with the necessary tools and strategies to effectively intervene when they notice a peer in distress. Through The Guardian Project, individuals can proactively address mental health and wellness, thereby fostering a healthier and safer work environment.

Additionally, the project is designed to give emergency responders and military personnel a fundamental understanding of the impact of trauma on the brain, assist them in acquiring positive coping skills, and break down the stigma surrounding mental health. The program's objective is to cultivate a culture of mental health and wellness in the workplace, reduce rates of PTSD and suicide, and ensure a secure and healthy work environment for all.

A recent study involving emergency responders revealed that 47% of the sample screened positive for PTSD, which is significantly higher than the prevalence in the general population. Furthermore, 37% of the sample reported moderate to very severe depression, which is also notably higher than the general population.
